A massive update introducing a content delivery system for UG-MP (DL) which gives insane amounts of possibilities to server developers as well as introduce the first snapshot of Midway.

After weeks of uncertainty it should be noted that this may very well be the last version we are able to release.

Installation instructions
  • Make sure you have a 100% clean GTA: San Andreas installation somewhere.
  • Simply run the installer and follow the instructions.

Changelog
  • Patched the SA-MP version checks to prevent people from connecting to SA-MP servers – this also prevents SA-MP players from connecting to UG-MP servers
  • Removed the required ASIs message as a lot of people were reporting issues with it
  • Disabled shaderized radiosity as some people were reporting performance issues with it (and it was a bit heavy)
  • Fixed a bug in the installer where it would be unable to find gta-sa.exe (this is the default executable name on the Steam version of the game; the Rockstar Games Launcher version uses gta_sa.exe)

  • Fixed a crash when saving the game with a camera – this rendered a savegame unusable as the game would crash whenever loading said save file
  • Fixed a broken patch for the plane creation code primarily affecting hydras
  • Fixed a random crash which occurred when a helicopter with usable guns (Hunter, Sea Sparrow, etc) is destroyed. This issue is most commonly reported during Destroy Targets (Flight School) and Up Up and Away during storyline mode.

  • Fixed a crash during the mission Vertical Bird which prevented you from passing this mission without shooting the spy boats

  • Fixed a possible crash when taking screenshots (be it through Amazing Screenshot, on UG-MP, or by using a camera weapon) related to train nodes
  • Midway’s current state of development has been exported ingame and is available to the player to explore. It includes:
    • A decent part of the northern part of the main financial district (The Square)
    • LODs for most of the assets
    • Navigation zones – meaning neighborhood names pop up once entering them
    • NPC traffic
    • Custom peds and vehicles designed for Midway spawn in the city, including law enforcement and emergency services
  • Fixed a bug in the UG-MP launcher where the server ping did not get displayed correctly upon firstly opening the launcher
  • Added DL which allows server developers to use custom server-side models for their server.
    • It is possible to add generic models, timed models, ped models and vehicle models. SA-MP on the other hand only supports generic models, timed models, and ped models.
    • Model IDs are automatically assigned for each client, so server developers won’t have to deal with updating their gamemode because the IDs they used are no longer free when we update the mod.
    • If server developers wish to use their own model IDs, they can still do so. They will have to make sure their IDs don’t overlap with other models in UG itself.
    • Servers can maintain assets.json which is used to inform clients what files to download
    • Models and TXDs may be added via IMG archives as well – meaning it is possible to package your files that way
    • Custom textdraws are also supported.
    • It is possible to modify vehicle audio settings for existing vehicles, as well as adding vehicle audio lines for vehicles added via DL.
    • Carcols.dat settings and carmods.dat settings can be replaced and added through Carcol DL and Carmod DL.
    • Pedcol.dat settings can also be added and replaced through Pedcol DL.
    • Paintjobs can be added as well, provided you place the file inside an IMG archive and have a template to make the paintjob from.
    • Not only that, it is also possible to load in entire IDE and IPL files from existing map mods and bypass SA-MP’s limits entirely.
      • This comes with the benefit to use LODs, something which you can’t do if you stick to CreateObject.
      • IDs are also dynamically set up and may differ for each player.
      • IPLs can be loaded with an offset applied to them.
      • A tool is available along with a guide to prepare maps with as little effort as possible. It’s mostly an automated process.
  • Fixed far clip, fog start, and lights on ground brightness server-side weather parameters not being read correctly on the client when joining a server with server-side weathers already set up
  • Fixed the recoil on the 2T Glock
  • Fixed VCS M16 firing like a Ruger on low skill
  • Fixed VCB Silenced Pistol animation

  • Added the Baron, a plane sized version of the RC Baron.

  • Re-introduced the in-game log console. This feature existed in the Snapshot 3 development builds but with the code from re3 it can be toggled on and off in the debug menu.
  • It is also possible to find out what version you are on more easily using another option in the debug menu which also originates from re3.
  • A frequently used debug option which displays timecycle lighting values is also available in the debug menu now. It can be seen in old screenshots for Snapshot 3.3.9.
  • Fixed a UB issue which caused players to sometimes crash when connecting to a UG-MP server
  • Fixed a heap corruption issue which also exists in SA-MP when loading the mission train track files. This may prevent a pretty rare problem where the game crashes post loading on UG-MP.
  • Fixed GetPlayerAmmo not returning ammunition values for weapon types above 255
  • Fixed GetPlayerVersion returning “1.0 –“ on 4.1.7. From now on, it will return a shorthand version name (“2.0” for 4.2) rather than a longer version string which is cut off.
  • Fixed a bug where the game spawned a flood of Kurumas at Easy Credit Auto’s in Portland
  • The game no longer tries to spawn an AT400 in one of the Francis International airport hangars which is too small to house such a large plane. Instead, the Legacy plane will spawn there instead, fixing this well-known issue.
  • Fixed the loading bar not showing up when booting up UG-MP with the latest Widescreen Fix version installed. This is a compatibility issue between SA-MP and Widescreen Fix.
  • Fixed a rare crash at the end of the loading screen which happens on PCs with lower specs (and where the loading process takes longer) – this is most likely the 4th most common crash in 4.1.7 according to the crash statistics
  • Fixed a potential deadlock when writing stuff to the log.
  • Revamped the in-game logger – it now performs better and formatting is improved as well.
